The Adaptec DuraStor 7320SS Storage Subsystem is a fast, flexible, quickly scalable, easy-to-manage solution for FC-to-SCSI networked data storage. The Durastor 7320SS is SAN-ready, providing the highest performance and the greatest accessibility for multiple clients. This subsystem is the optimal solution for shared storage environments, where multiple storage subsystems will be managed over long distances. Advanced software features allow for increased storage security and storage manageability, resulting in lower total cost of ownership. Adaptec's LUN Zoning technology provides the ability to map and mask LUNs or partitions to multiple servers in SAN environments. IT managers can easily and conveniently partition pooled storage and select which servers can access each partition. This technology minimizes management costs, and provides improved storage access security. The DuraStor 7320SS also offers other advantages, such as the ability to support LAN-free backups - particularly desirable where LAN bandwidth is constrained. It is ideal for small to large IT data centers and businesses with SANs or point-to-point topologies that handle storage needs for data-intensive applications such as e-commerce, rich media streaming, transaction processing, and data warehousing. The DuraStor 7320SS includes a 2U SCSI drive enclosure with a single FC-to-SCSI RAID controller and hot-swappable power supplies and fans. Adding a second (optional) RAID controller provides host-independent active-active failover/failback features for point-to-point and arbitrated loop configurations. RAID level support includes 0, 1, 3, 4, 5, 10, 50, and JBOD volume sets.
