Allied Telesis'' new AT-MC300 family of high-speed media converters allow network managers to cost-effectively convert 100Base-TX connections to 100Base-FX quickly and reliably. Two new connector types are utilized to maximize conversion options and network design flexibility. These are the: VF-45 (AT-MC301) and MT-RJ (AT-MC302). Fast Ethernet continues to be deployed throughout the enterprise at an impressive rate. Along with transition to higher speed LANs, a growing number of networking professionals are installing fiber in key areas of the network. Fiber delivers greatly enhanced cable distances, security features, and increased bandwidth capabilities. Because of this increased demand for fiber, cable installers have developed a cleaner and faster way to install cable utilizing new small form-factor connectors. The VF-45 connector is the same size as the current RJ-45 style connector and the MT-RJ is smaller than the RJ-45. The new media converters feature Plug-and-Play installation and a compact chassis design enabling the AT-MC300 family to be used in a wide variety of networking environments. Constructed from high-quality materials the AT-MC300 series are designed to be an integral component of Fast Ethernet networks.
