As Internet usage is growing, utilizing the available bandwidth more efficiency is becoming increasingly important. The ability to easily and inexpensively allocate and control the amount of available bandwidth in a LAN/WAN environment has become a key issue. Ideally suited for a wide range of applications including web hosting, server collocation and hosted application environments, BandwidthManager is an easy to use, low cost, two port networking device that enables service providers to easily set and control bi-directional bandwidth in 1 Bps increments up to 10 Mbps. BandwidthManager is available as a small, tabletop unit with an internal power supply, or as a module that installs in IMC Networks' iMediaCenter platform that fits a variety of installation requirements. It can be installed and configured within minutes with IMC Networks' iView SNMP management application software, or with other standard SNMP applications. Ease of configuration and operation enables ISPs to quickly adjust the allocated uplink or downlink speed to meet and guarantee a wide range of customer bandwidth requirements. And as customer requirements change, LAN or WAN link speeds can be throttled on the fly. The low cost of BandwidthManager helps ISPs, ASPs and Metro service providers to maximize their profitability by providing the ability to offer and price customer bandwidth more effectively.
