The 3Com Power over Ethernet Multiport Midspan Solution can power up to 24 network jacks over standard Category 5 or 5e Ethernet cabling. This IEEE 802.3af -compliant inline power source installs right in the switch closet, eliminating an exposed power supply and extra wiring at the workspace. Installing Power over Ethernet helps save time and money because it's less vulnerable to damage or tampering than local power supplies.
