The 3Com Wireless LAN Access Point 8700 creates a high-performance enterprise-class wireless LAN supporting up to 250 simultaneous users up to 100 meters (328 feet). It is designed for organizations or institutions facing increasing mobile computing needs. It ships as a dual mode 802.11a 5 GHz, 54-Mbps/802.11b 2.4 GHz, 11-Mbps access point. Turbo mode boosts 802.11a performance to 72 Mbps. Dual radio-slot architecture provides configuration flexibility and investment protection. Industry's most robust security includes local and RADIUS server-based MAC address authentication, 64-, 128-, 154-bit WEP encryption, Dynamic Security Link, 802.11x, RADIUS and EAP authentication.
