The AT-APR54BG provides cable/DSL users with a simple to use wired and wireless combo solution for their broadband networking needs at SME environment. In addition, it can function as a wireless LAN-to-LAN bridge and also a wireless repeater. The AT-APR54BG is basically a router integrated with an IEEE 802.11g wireless LAN access point, offering up to 54Mbps data rate at the 2.4GHz frequency spectrum. The maximum wireless data rate is 108Mbps at Turbo Mode. The router module performs DHCP and NAT functions. The wireless LAN access point module conforms to the IEEE 802.11g specifications where both "b" and "g" radio clients are able to associate and operate simultaneously. The built-in enhanced algorithm will automatically select the best possible transmission rate and association method to achieve superior range, throughput and roaming performance. PCs can also be connected via the integral 4-port 10/100TX switch with auto MDI/MDI-X, which automatically recognizes cross or straight cables. The AT-APR54BG can be targeted at SME environment as well as hotspot, enterprise and LAN-to-LAN bridging environment. The AT-APR54BG provides users with a simple intuitive GUI so all non-technical users can quickly get their wireless network up and running. The PPP LED provides users with a simple diagnostic tool to check the online status of the router if a PPPoE configuration is used. Wireless security can be implemented by using the standard WLAN WEP and MAC address control. In addition, IEEE 802.1x, TLS and dynamic encryption (TKIP) are also supported. The WEP and dynamic WEP can operate at line speed encryption with no performance degradation. User can also select not to broadcast the network SSID to prevent unauthorized users from associating with it. The AT-APR54BG also supports VPN pass-through enabling users to access their corporate networks from home.
