You are probably one of the 30 million people in small businesses across the United States using computers. Chances are your business depends heavily on your computer network system to perform nearly every aspect of the operation, from developing business proposals to keeping track of customers and prospects, to managing day to day accounting activities. ARCserve for Windows NT Single Server is designed to provide small business with a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use data protection solution. ARCserve's Windows-based interface means it is easy to learn and use because it works like your operating system. Setting up ARCserve for Windows NT Single Server is simple and straight-forward. The backup, restore, job status and device management wizards allow novice users to easily submit backup and restore jobs, monitor job status and perform device management. If you accept the ARCserve default settings, you can even perform a "one click backup" of your entire server. ARCserve Single Server is MTF (Microsoft Tape Format) Read compatible and offers natural migration from the backup utility in the Windows NT operating system. Small businesses who are not using backup or who are using the basic backup function in the operating system can easily migrate to ARCserve Single Server. ARCserve can restore files from backups performed under that utility without any messy conversion utilities. ARCserve offers additional features to the built-in Windows NT backup utility, including scheduled jobs; built-in virus scanning for backup and restore; full or partial backup and restore of registry information; and options for customizing your data protection strategy including disaster recovery, open file backup and more. ARCserve Single Server backs up not only the host machine but also connected Windows desktop clients such as Windows NT Workstation, Windows 95 and Windows 3.1x. ARCserve provides intelligent, end-to-end remote client to server data compression and local server data compression. If hardware compression is disabled, ARCserve will compress the data. It increases the effective device capacity and reduces network traffic because it saves the uncompressed file size and hence requires less storage space. Windows NT and Windows 95 client agents allow data packets to be compressed during transport through the network.
