MetaFrame delivers a comprehensive server-based solution to the enterprise by extending Windows Terminal Server with additional client and server functionality - including support for heterogeneous computing environments, enterprise-scale management and seamless desktop integration. MetaFrame transforms the way organizations deploy, manage and access business applications by providing improved application reach, speed, predictability and cost. Citrix MetaFrame system software, which incorporates Citrix's Independent Computing Architecture (ICA), provides a complete comprehensive solution for multi-user environments. This Platform Transition Kit (PTK) contains software media from both the MetaFrame XPe and MetaFrame 1.8 product platforms. Product licenses, however, are only included for the MetaFrame 1.8 platform. PTKs are employed by current MetaFrame 1.8 customers who wish to continue to expand their MetaFrame 1.8 server farms today, but plan to migrate to MetaFrame XP in the near future without later having to spend the money for migration products.
