Compaq's SDLT 110/220 is the first product in the SDLT family, offering increased capacity and performance over DLT, and with backward read compatibility with DLT Type IV media. Super DLTtape is designed to meet the business critical demands of storage solutions. The SDLT platform is designed for industrial-strength reliability and data integrity for non-stop computing. SDLT will change the way companies protect and use information. Supported through Compaq Insight Manager, alerting the administrator when tape status changes or when rewrite/reread thresholds are exceeded. Compaq is now offering TSMC - Tape Storage Management Console with every tape drive. This utility allows customers to upgrade their tape drive firmware when necessary. SDLT tape drive has been improved with the added feature of DRTape. DRTape insures that in case of a system failure, you will be able to restore your system from a single tape. Compaq's SDLT 110/220-GB tape drives are fully supported and compatible with Compaq Servers, StorageWorks DLT Tape Array and controllers.
