The Creative Professional E-MU 1820 is a 24-bit/192kHz PCI audio interface that delivers everything needed to produce professional audio on the PC including high-grade converters, hardware-accelerated effects and mixing, and seamless compatibility with all major PC Audio and MIDI software. The Creative Professional E-MU 1820 features E-MU's powerful E-DSP chip, the effects processor that can deliver over 16 simultaneous hardware-accelerated effects. It frees the PC from running CPU-intensive plug-ins that limit audio performance - a feature previously only available on high-end digital audio workstations. Creative Professional Digital Audio Systems come with over 500 effects presets and their effects architectures are fully expandable, allowing for the addition of future plug-ins. The E-DSP chip also provides zero-latency and hardware-based mixing and monitoring via the included PatchMix DSP mixer, which provides unmatched flexibility in routing audio between physical and virtual (ASIO/WDM) inputs and outputs without the need for an external mixer. The Creative Professional E-MU 1820 features ADAT, S/PDIF (optical and coaxial) and FireWire interfaces, as well as providing sync upgrade options. It also ships with a 24-bit/192kHz half-rack breakout box with I/O expansion covering everything from pristine 1/4-inch balanced inputs and outputs to specialized I/O including turntable inputs (with ground lug and hardware RIAA preamp), dedicated speaker outputs and two studio-grade TFPro preamps with 48V phantom power and 40dB of gain.
