Designed to ensure access to all the standards the RoamAbout R2 access point supports, the RoamAbout multimode client PC card enables users of IEEE 802.11a-, 802.11b-and 802.11g-compliant wireless products to integrate all compliant devices easily, providing total interoperability and making wireless communication effortless. Clients using the multimode PC card are able to roam from cell to cell regardless of the transmission frequency as long as they are authorized users of the network. The multimode wireless PC card has a 32-bit CardBus interface. Compliance with 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g ensures throughput of up to 54 Mbps, in addition to vendor interoperability, seamless integration and investment protection. Ideally suited to medium and large enterprises in health care, education, government and manufacturing, the RoamAbout Multimode Wireless LAN PC Card supports 128-bit Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) encryption and per-session encryption, as well as 802.1X User Authentication with Key Distribution. At the same time, Enhanced Access Control gives network managers complete control over who connects to the network. AES Encryption is available via an easy- t o- u s e firmware upgrade.
