These features, combined with the nfinite-FX Engine and the Lightspeed Memory Architecture, deliver amazing visuals to meet the latest in gaming and DVD playing requirements. The shadow buffer stores mapped objects, such as complex scenes containing many objects or shapes, soft shadow edges or self-shadowing of objects. These textures are later accessed as easy as if they were the regular non-complex ones. When it comes to the 3D texture technology, it offers more flexibility, performance and ease of implementation than traditional texturing techniques. It gives developers the ability to create effects that cannot be implemented with a standard 2D texture approach - such as wood grain or marbling effects.
