The new IBM High Rate Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Adapter offers a high-performance wireless networking option for ThinkPad notebooks equipped with an embedded 802.11b antenna and available mini-PCI slot. The High Rate Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Adapter is a high-performance, affordable solution for connecting ThinkPad notebooks to a wireless or wired network. The adapter offers fast, reliable connectivity to an existing 802.11b network in the office or on the road. The adapter comes with an easy-to-use configuration utility for fast and effective setup. The utility lets you specify encryption, infrastructure mode, ad hoc mode, transmit mode, and enhanced roaming. The adapter is Wi-Fi-certified, which means it has been tested for compatibility with IBM Wi-Fi-certified wireless computers and includes support for ad hoc peer-to-peer networking communication to wired network via Wi-Fi-compliant access point.
