The Coax/Twinax Adapter for SCS is a 32-bit PCI-based option that provides the SNA Character String (SCS) datastream and either a twinaxial or coaxial connection for Optra S, Optra Se, Optra SC, Optra K, Optra Color 1200 or OptraColor 45 printers. For the coax attachment, DSC/DSE datastreams are also supported. With this option installed in the printer, it will emulate an IBM host-workstation printer and print from IBM legacy applications running on a AS/400, System/36, System/38, System/370 or System/390 computer. The Coax/Twinax Adapter for SCS automatically detects the type of cable - either coax or twinax - that is being used to connect the printer to its IBM host.
