The Contivity 1700 series Secure IP Services Gateways can serve several roles in enterprise and carrier IP networks: basic IP access router, dedicated VPN switch, or firewall - and evolve from one to another simply by licensing a software key. Supporting up to 500 tunnels, Contivity 1700 gateways are ideal for office centers, campuses, or large branch offices with several hundred users. The Contivity 1740, with up to four expansion slots, can integrate a range of LAN, WAN and acceleration cards for fan-out and back-up purposes.
