The DVR-545HX-S has an integrated digital (DVB-T) tuner and a 160GB hard disk drive - which will give you up to 455 hours of recording time. You can play and record almost everything, including DVD-R (including Dual Layer), DVD -RW, DVD+R (including Double Layer), DVD+RW and DVD-RAM. If you frequently download film content from the web, it also meets the DivX Home Theater certification standard to provide high quality playback of compressed video. Via the DV-In, you can also copy and edit footage from your digital camcorder. The DVR-545HX-S incorporates a newly-designed VQE10 video quality enhancer, which enables a scaling option up to 1080i video format - the result is that you always see enhanced and accurate video. The HDMI interface allows perfect full-digital video and sound reproduction signals over a single cable - without any signal deterioration. Time can also be come less of a challenge. If you miss parts of a program or are interrupted during viewing - the system allows Time Shifting. Pause live TV, or use Chase Play - which allows you to playback the program you're recording - while you're recording it. One-touch recording makes it easy to record - but the system also has an Electronic Program Guide, which allows you to browse through the multitude of TV channels on screen - making it even easier for timer setting and recording the specific programs you're looking for. High speed copying is also at the touch of a button. The recorder also includes an Entertainment Engine, which enables you to upload digital images or compressed audio files at high speed, via the front-in USB host. You can then create a JPEG slideshow, whilst compressed audio is being played, or even print photographs from the hard disk via a PictBridge compatible USB printer. This means that your recorder now also serves as a convenient central library of video content, audio titles and digital photographs.
