Sony StorStation Hot Plug AIT drives offer maximum portability whilst delivering only minimal disruption to your IT environment. Whether an existing user of AIT technology looking to upgrade to more data capacity, or simply needing to migrate from lower capacity DAT tape drives, the StorStation Hot Plug AIT drives are fully integrated into hot swappable drive trays to connect directly to the server hot plug backplane. Users can install, remove and replace drives without disrupting the server. Devices are automatically detected at installation, and are completely accessible and functional without rebooting. When you make a decision to use a tape technology, you need to be sure that your investment will be protected in the future with backwards compatibility of older media in new drives.
