The 3Com OfficeConnect Cable/DSL Secure Gateway gives small businesses and growing home or branch-office networks secure Internet connectivity for multiple users via industry-standard Ethernet. The gateway employs a stateful packet inspection firewall, along with VPN initiation/termination, hacker pattern detection, and virtual-DMZ capabilities for strong security in an economical package. A four-port Ethernet/Fast Ethernet LAN switch connects to multiple users, or to the office LAN, while an Ethernet WAN port links to your existing broadband modem. Robust IP addressing and authentication functions deliver router-like performance.
