Macromedia Flash Media Server 2 software offers the unique combination of traditional streaming media capabilities and a flexible development environment for creating and delivering innovative, interactive media applications to the broadest possible audience. The product is sever based software which runs media applications developed for it with the Flash authoring tool. Playback of these media applications occurs via Flash Player 6 or higher. The Professional Edition contains all of the functionality needed to develop, test, and deploy Flash Media Server applications on low- to medium-traffic Internet sites. The Professional Edition supports up to 100 simultaneous user connections. Multiple Professional Edition licenses can be "stacked" to increase capacity. For example, three licenses can be purchases and stacked on one machine to allow 300 simultaneous connections.
