The four-megapixel Olympus CAMEDIA C-4040ZOOM makes it possible and adds an incredibly bright 3x optical zoom lens system to give photographers tremendous versatility. Furthermore, a multitude of additional automatic and manual control options as well as a powerful processor and image optimization algorithms are included to secure the best possible results. While the extremely powerful CCD is without question capable of producing stunningly sharp and clear high-resolution photographs, the key to this camera's superb performance is its innovative, advanced optical system. With an astoundingly bright lens, the C-4040ZOOM offers users immense flexibility in wide-ranging situations. Moreover, the combination of its 3x optical and 2.5x digital zoom, provides up to 7.5x magnification. Ten high-quality lens elements arranged in seven groups ensure the incoming light from the subject of choice is precisely directed onto the CCD sensor - minimizing aberration and luminance variations. A very special coup of this high-performance camera, however, is its size. Thanks to the inclusion of an extremely fast ASIC processor and an image optimization algorithm, the C-4040ZOOM ensures even low-resolution images display visibly better gradation, color and contrast than regular shots of the same pixel size. The camera's impressive processing power and special software enable an intelligent scaling of image data up to 3200 x 2400 pixels for optimized results. This ensures that even over-sized format photos will amaze with their sensational quality.
