The ADR2.120si extends OnStream's second generation of award-winning Advanced Digital Recording (ADR) products and showcases many new features. OnStream's all-new cartridge loader ensures accurate cartridge mounting to withstand the harsh day-to-day server environment. The newly developed Reinforced Actuator Mounting plate (RAM) allows data to be written with the greatest level of accuracy at maximum speeds. Adaptive Temperature Compensation (ATC) provides precise control of the tape drive's temperature, guaranteeing optimal recording of mission critical data. Data cartridges feature Mid Load Point (MLP) to cut average data access times by 50 percent. ADR2. SCSI drives are powered by the company's patented ADR technology. Based on an eight-channel array, the technology allows the solid-state design to read and write eight tracks of data simultaneously. Other features include an embedded servo system, spatially distributed error correction code (ECC), a bit error rate of only 1 in 1019 and a drive reliability of 400, 000 hours Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
