The PT-AE100 is equipped with a newly developed optical system to achieve a contract ratio of 500: 1, and thus recreate a picture with depth, as does a cinema projector. The result is rich, film quality pictures that no conventional LCD projector can imitate. Traditional LCD panels characteristically saturate, resulting in blurred dark and bright areas. The PT-AE100 is equipped with a 10-bit digital gamma correction circuit that operates in the opposite direction. By correcting linearly from dark to bright the ideal gradation is realized, leading to the most delicate image reproduction possible. Natural colors, like those of skin and hair, or the vibrancy of a brightly colored dress, are delivered with smooth shading and accurate image gradation. It incorporates a wide screen - 16: 9 aspect ratio LCD panel. For the first time ever in the industry, Panasonic has employed the 0.7" Native 16: 9 LCD panel in the PT-AE100. This makes for both a stunningly wide screen and superbly high-quality pictures. Incorporating component connectors, you can now enjoy the most outstanding wide screen video experience. Its Extra Short Throw Lens enables display of larger images in small rooms using an extra-short throw lens. The extra-short throw lens makes it possible to produce a large display in the smallest of rooms. Experience a large screen without the need of a huge space. This projector has a footprint the size of a letter pad, but can still produce a large wide screen picture. Compare that to the space taken by a traditional technology large-screen television. Furthermore, the 1.2x zoom makes selecting the set-up place easier than ever. A newly developed cooling fan reduces fan noise. Noise has been reduced with a new quieter fan, and by using twin blades light that leaks from the grill is also cut down. The projector is equipped with an extensive range of terminals to enable connection of all types of equipment. The AE100 is equipped with component terminals for DVD players, video, or s-video and more. Connect a DVD player and enjoy beautiful high quality images.
